Our Process

Get to know you:

From our very first meeting, we’re all about getting to know you and working out concept designs for your new home. Your dedicated project manager will work with you from the get-go and be with you throughout the design and build, right to your final handover and beyond.

Your design brief:

We pay close attention to all the details and take time to understand exactly what’s important in your new home. We’ll chat about budgets and bring plenty of ideas and possibilities to get the most out of your design and build. We’ll do a site visit together and confirm that everything we planned works on the ground.

Design development:

Next step is where we draw up your specific design requests and discuss finishes, specifications and inclusions. We’ll prepare extensive preliminary drawings and share them with you for approval. Nothing is set in stone until you’re completely happy with it.

Indicative costs:

This is where it all comes together and we finalise designs, specifications and costings. The project deposit is paid, and we move into the pre-construction phase. At Hilstin, we offer total cost transparency on your build and see this as a critical factor in building trust with our clients.

Pre-construction documentation:

While you are considering all the finishing touches of your home, we are finalising the working drawings, combining the experience of our engineers and building surveyors to prepare building contracts. At this stage if any town planning & developer approvals are needed we make the required applications.

Permit approval:

Hilstin uses the plain English Housing Industry Association (HIA) building contracts; bringing together all your project details into one easy-to-follow document we clearly outline our commitments to each other. Once signed we’ll obtain building permits, pre-order materials and appoint your site manager ready for the start of construction.

On-site construction.

Hilstin works to strict building timelines and keep you up-to-date every step of the way. You can’t rush quality, and you can’t cut corners on craftmanship, so our timelines are realistic to ensure we meet our promise that your home will be built to the highest quality standards.

Handover:

All those months of planning and preparation has paid off; your dream home is ready for you to move in. However this is not the end; we stand by our quality and are there for support should the need arise. To us it’s about delivering a home you’re proud off and a service you’re happy to recommend to family & friends.
